Additional A Light in the Attic Information

Last night while I lay thinking here
Some Whatifs crawled inside my ear
And pranced and partied all night long
And sang their same old Whatif song:

Whatif I flunk that test?
Whatif green hair grows on my chest?
Whatif nobody likes me?
Whatif a bolt of lightning strikes me?...

Here in the attic of Shel Silverstein you will find Backward Bill, Sour Face Ann, the Meehoo with an Exactlywatt, and the Polar Bear in the Frigidaire. You will talk with Broiled Face, and find out what happens when Somebody steals your knees, you get caught by the Quick-Digesting Gink, a Mountain snores, and They Put a Brassiere on the Camel.

From the creator of the beloved poetry collections Where the Sidewalk Ends and Falling Up, here is another wondrous book of poems and drawings.

What Customers Say About A Light in the Attic:

A Light in the Attic is a great book for people of all ages. I recieved it as a gift when I was younger and I just bought a copy for my niece and she called me last night to tell me how much she loved all of the poems.

She really seemed to enhoy the humor of these poems and illustrations. I feel this helped instill a new awareness of the joys of poetry in many of my studens. I was a Reading/Literacy teacher for over 30 years and used this book to help introduce my students to how fun poetry could be. At the end of class time, if I had a few extra minutes, I would read a few poems alous. I recently bouth a new copy (I had given my old one to a cousin, who also is a reading reacher) to read to my Mother who is a resident in a nursing home.

Simple and quick and fun and classic. Not sure who enjoyed this book more.myself or the 8 year-old I was reading it to. Just finished it up and already ordered another of his classic books.

The nonsensical whimsy is something kids (and adults) of all ages will enjoy. Wonderful.Rating: 5/5 This remarkable collection of poems reminds you of Silverstein's classic "Where the Sidewalk Ends". I never noticed that Silverstein did his own drawings, which makes it all the more enjoyable, especially the ones where one drawing segues into the next poem, or where the illustration adds to the poem (the 'i love you' snake, etc).

IT was great for the price. I didn't know it was missing the cover, but the price was so low it didn't matter.
